Jordan Green: Water Resource Field Specialist

He/Him or They/Them

Jordan is a field specialist, educator, and ecosystem restorer who blends science, grit, and community organizing to bring climate solutions down to earth—literally. They joined Watershed Progressive after working in school garden development, food justice programs, and community-scale environmental education throughout the Bay Area. With a degree in Environmental Science, Jordan brings experience from a range of different roles—including journalist, educator, researcher, and program coordinator. They’ve reported on local politics, managed community partnerships, built native plant gardens and food forests, and led hands-on environmental education initiatives across schools, nonprofits, and statewide agroecological foundations. Their work often sits at the intersection of ecology, equity, and public engagement. Whether installing a rainwater catchment system, mapping garden data in GIS, or helping students test soil pH, they approach each project with curiosity, care, and a commitment to accessible science. Outside of work, you might find them experimenting with hydroponics, hiking Sierra foothill trails, or scribbling in a notebook with their cat close by. At Watershed Progressive, they’re excited to help build community-based water resilience and contribute to projects that restore ecosystems while centering environmental justice selected.
