Forest is pursuing his master’s degree in GIS at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with coursework in technical, business and management knowledge. He has worked as a research assistant on hydrological simulations in Yangtze River Watershed focusing on future land-use change scenarios, and has working experience with urban planning assessment, geospatial data analysis, and geodata visualization.

His nickname “Forest” is associated with his cultural background. He was born in China, in 1998, the year of the Tiger in the Chinese Zodiac. Since tigers are believed to live in the forest, he was given the nickname “Lin” in Chinese, which means “forest”.

Forest is currently living in Champaign, Illinois. He loves travelling in his spare time, cooking Chinese meals, and spending time with his friends.
